Xbox craves “beers ‘n’ brats” and signs up for Gamescom 2022

Of the ‘Big Three’, Xbox seems to be the only one giving in to the urge for German lager and greasy sausages. With both Nintendo and PlayStation saying “nein” to a German rendez-vous, Team Xbox has pledged to attend Gamescom 2022. Sehr gut, Microsoft. Wir sind überglücklich mit Ihrer Wahl!

And let’s be honest, this is exactly the news some Gamescom attendees needed to get. Because it was starting to become a bit of a disappointment. After two years of getting a cold hard “nein” from ze Germans, Cologne is finally allowing Gamescom to happen again. But plenty of renowned contributors – like PlayStation, Nintendo, Activision-Blizzard, and Take-Two – have passed on this year’s edition for various reasons. Lucky for us, Xbox isn’t planning on skipping Gamescom 2022.

“Following our recent Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, we’re excited to confirm that Xbox will be back on the show floor at Gamescom 2022 in Cologne, Germany.

Fans in Europe and around the world can expect updates on some announced games coming to Xbox in the next 12 months and a chance to hang out as a community again (in person)!”

Good job, Xbox. That’s the spirit! This puts some much-needed faith into the hearts and minds of potential Gamescom visitors. Because let’s be honest, spending almost a grand on a hotel or AirBnB to only have a sip of tea with Ubisoft, THQ Nordic, or Bandai Namco… that doesn’t really justify the expenses.

Anywho, I guess I’ll see you at Gamescom then. If you bring the beers, I’ll arrange the brats. Do we have a deal?
