Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 scoping in on release in June

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 – the obvious sequel to Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts – has got its release date locked and loaded. According to publisher Koch Media, CI Games‘ first-person long-range shooter has dialed in on June 4th of this year.

The premise of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 isn’t really a surprising one. You’re a sniper (really?) called Raven and you make a living by completing contracts that tell you to kill certain targets (wow!). It’s preferred that you take ’em out quietly and unseen, like a ghost (you don’t say…), but if fecal matter hits the proverbial fan, you can finish the job like a true warrior. See, the title makes total sense.

According to CI Games, this sequel isn’t just another rehash of the first iteration. For instance, Contracts 2 lets you pop headshots from more than a thousand meters away (or 3000 feet for the non-metric readers). The team is also boasting about a dramatic single-player campaign set in the Middle-East and next-gen performances. To sweeten the deal even further, better enemy A.I. is promised. I mean, who isn’t instantly convinced by these solid claims? Can I get a show of hands?

Thanks IGN, for not putting an age restriction on the trailer

Personally, I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with the whole franchise. Sure, it always looks the part (mostly), but it usually seemed to miss some finesse, especially when it came to enemy A.I. Therefore, I’m curious to find out how CI has managed to upgrade this particular issue. Sniping an elusive target can be a thrill, but not if an entire army seems to be oblivious when bodies keep dropping around it.

I guess there’s only one way to find out, and that’s by playing it, starting June 4th. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will take a shot at your spare time from that day on unless you don’t own a PC, PlayStation 4|5, an Xbox One, or an Xbox Series X|S.
