Next-gen versions of The Witcher 3 are being delayed again

The headline pretty much says it all. The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of The Witcher 3 have been postponed yet again. CD Projekt is moving its development back in-house, thanking Saber Interactive for its service.

There’s not really much more to say about it. When it comes to giving explanations, the Polish studio pretty much has the eloquence of the game’s protagonist. Without giving us a new release window, all that we know is that a Q2 2022 release for a next-gen The Witcher 3 is out of the question.

On Twitter, not everyone seems to be as understanding as one might hope. Some gamers are “ciri-ously” (it had to be done) asking themselves what’s taking so long. Others seem to show more sympathy, pointing out that a rushed game is the last thing we should ask for. I guess CD Projekt has had its fill on that particular area.

Since I’m always striving to become a respectable journalist, I’ve reached out to Geralt of Rivia to ask him for his opinion on the matter. Cutting the bullshit, his answer was very much straight to the point:

There was another answer, but that one might be a little too profane for now. But if you truly insist on knowing what it entailed, follow this link.
