Ubisoft is mocking people who’ve quit Far Cry 6 prematurely

Getting people to play your game is one thing nowadays, but keeping them interested… that’s a whole different game. Even after launching a game, publishers have to pull a few strings to keep gamers invested. Usually, one way of achieving that is by – let’s say – providing decent post-launch content. But there are other ways and with Far Cry 6, Ubisoft isn’t shying away from utilizing them, even if it rubs people the wrong way.

Gamers who’ve stopped playing Far Cry 6 after a few hours, might have noticed it already. Ubisoft has started to send out e-mails to players, laughing in the face of their pathetic attempt to free Yara. People with only a handful of hours recorded are being ridiculed by Antón Castillo, who doesn’t mind watching you fail. No seriously. Quitters are actually being addressed with statements like “It was amusing watching you fail” and “surely you can do better than this”. Even though Ubisoft is just trying to get you back into playing Far Cry 6 by reigniting the fighting spirit, not everybody feels

Of course, everybody can see what’s going on here. Ubisoft is just trying to get you back into playing Far Cry 6 by reigniting the fighting spirit. But it turns out that there are people who are not a big fan of this form of sarcasm. Apparently, those people haven’t seen the pre-launch Far Cry 6 commercials. You know, the ones in which Giancarlo Esposito addresses potential buyers in the same sarcastic way.

So, what do you make of all of this? Is it as tasteless as claimed by some or should people stop crying about it and put on some big-boy pants? Let me know. I promise I won’t shame you publicly.
