The Callisto Protocol gameplay is here, and it’s to die for

The Callisto Protocol – the latest third-person sci-fi horror experience by Dead Space creator Glen Schofield – is finally ready to show us what it’s made of. During PlayStation’s State of Play, Striking Distance took a couple of minutes to delight us with a short, yet impressive gameplay trailer. And let me tell you, it’s absolutely nightmare fuel. Splendid nightmare fuel.

Right off the bat, The Callisto Protocol doesn’t seem to hide its heritage. Even a blind person can see the obvious Dead Space references. We might not be dealing with Isaac Clarke on the USG Ishimura here, but Jacob Lee faces a similar welcoming committee in Callisto’s Black Iron Prison. But hey, take a look for yourself. Feast your eyes on some glorious gameplay.

See? What did I tell you? Calling this glorious might have even been an understatement. And the best is yet to come. The Callisto Protocol breaks free this year, on December 2, to be exact. The game will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, XBOX X|S, and PC.

If you feel like pre-ordering, head on over to callistothegame.com, where for some reason, only the PlayStation versions are selectable. Then again, if you do go for it and pre-order the Day One edition, Striking Distance will throw in a Retro Prisoner skin. For Jacob, that is. But I’m sure the game will throw in some skins of its own, wearable or not.
