Nintendo really isn’t making a Switch 4K, honestly…

Nintendo usually stays really quiet when it comes to rumors. But for once, the Japanese tech giant feels like it needs to make a clear point. After loads of speculation and rumors that dev kits of a Switch 4K have been provided to numerous studios, Nintendo breaks the silence.

According to Bloomberg, 11 studios have been working on 4K games using a software toolkit provided by Nintendo. Usually, this means that there must be something going on at Nintendo, and it should point to a 4K version of the handheld. But according to Nintendo, this doesn’t mean jack shit. Even better, they straight-out deny the coming of a 4K Switch. There’s only the OLED Switch, and that’s it. Period!

Okay, Nintendo has made its point clear. But the real question that arises is “Why?” Why would developers claim to get the toolkit to create 4K games for a device that’ll never come? I dunno man, something just reeks here. Where there is smoke…

Anyway, it seems that we’ll have to do with the current Switch for now, which finally supports Bluetooth audio peripherals, by the way. But if you really crave more handheld power, consider pre-ordering Valve’s Steam Deck. Just remember though, you can’t go all loco with dumbass games like WarioWare: Get It Together on the Steam Deck. You’re tearing me apart, Nintendo!
