Prince of Persia

A new Ori-inspired Prince of Persia game might be in the works

If we are to believe business insider Tom Henderson, Ubisoft Montpellier seeks to create a new Prince of Persia game. With very few details to report, he did mention where the dev team gets its inspiration.

As the headline already conveniently gave it away, inspiration is reportedly drawn from one of Microsoft’s better platform games. Ori – that white creature fighting off an oppressive work culture and horrible bosses – makes for a beautiful source of inspiration. And with that piece of intel, the details run dry.

As you might know, Ubisoft is currently working on another Prince of Persia project. Back in 2020, a Sands of Time remake got announced, and since then, delayed twice. But trust me when I say that Ubi Mumbai and Ubi Pune are on top of things.

Both PoP-games currently have a ‘release date unknown’ status, but all of that could change this summer. I hope to share more details when another edition of Ubiforward hits the internet, unless Ubi follows EA’s example.

Then again, Ubisoft isn’t suffering a lack of material to bring to the table this year. There are plenty of projects supposedly on the brink of being ready. Projects like Skull & Bones, Assassin’s Creed Rift, and XDefiant.
