Look boy, there’s finally some God of War: Ragnarok gameplay

The wish of every Kratos fan has finally been fulfilled last night. After eons of dead silence, Santa Monica Studio used their PlayStation Showcase minutes to unveil more of God of War: Ragnarok. And boy, does it look splendiferous. While the gameplay looks fresh and recognizable at the same time, Ragnarok offers plenty of new stuff to delve into. Yet certain things never seem to change, even after so many years.

We all have acquired a special place in our hearts for Kratos after the events of God of War. This bald-headed beardy, far from dad material, having to traverse miles and miles to “train” his son Atreus. Kratos just didn’t seem to go for the Father of the Year award, no matter how hard he tried. Atreus was all like “but dad, why man?” and Kratos would grunt in disdain. That part has mostly stayed in God of War: Ragnarok, so it seems, even though Atreus has matured a bit.

And that’s all understandable. Ragnarok is on its way and Atreus… he just wants answers. In the meanwhile, Kratos still has to deal with his demons, Freya being one of them. Yeah, she still hasn’t really forgiven him for the shit he pulled in 2019. With all of this weighing heavy on Kratos’ shoulders, a helping hand might be just the thing he needs. And the search for that ‘top Tyr’ helping hand will get you places.

Well, what did I tell you? Looks pretty dope, am I right? This is what many of us have been waiting for and something we’ve dreaded at the same time. I mean, sure… we finally got the gameplay we’ve been desiring. But some answers are still not given. Like, when is it coming exactly, for example. The answer to that might come soon, if we may interpret Angrboda’s final remark like that. But in the meanwhile, we must stay calm and reasonable.

Are you a calm and reasonable person?
