Dying Light 2 isn’t dead and still slated for 2021

It’s alive! IT’S ALIVE!!! Dying Light 2 is far from dying, even though it almost looked like it did for a moment. Developer Techland broke the silence and issued a statement online, claiming that the first-person zombie game is still coming this year.

It might not be the news you were waiting for – after Techland’s tease to keep your eyes peeled for more info – but hey, it’s something. Dying Light 2 is under quite a bit of scrutiny lately, mostly because of a lack of info and horror stories from employees. You’ve probably already heard the claims of a toxic work environment and the development hell. Techland rebutted the latter, but that doesn’t take away that previous delays and known lay-offs don’t paint a pretty picture.

Anyway, how about that update? In the video below, Techland shares a few new snippets of gameplay, showing us what to expect from Dying Light 2 whenever it gets launched. According to this same video, it’s still scheduled for 2021. Take a look for yourself.

Finally, Techland shares some positive news, right after their statement of made mistakes during the marketing. The Polish studio admits the game got announced prematurely, causing the long wait.

Dying Light 2 comes to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC when it launches. The possibility of an Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 version hasn’t been discussed yet.
