Blizzard launching Diablo Immortal on PC, receives -50 DMG

Ever since the initial announcement of Diablo Immortal, Blizzard is diso approval from the fanbase. Mocked, shunned, and considered an inappropriate out-of-season April Fool’s joke, Immortal lived up to the name in the worst possible way. And all the devs wanted to know was “WUW?” Easy. An actual PC Diablo, for Tyrael’s sake. Well… I guess we can say TY and GJ to Blizzard, because Diablo Immortal will launch on PC as well, alongside the mobile version. No joke.

If we’re to believe Blizzard, bringing Diablo Immortal has always been an option worth investigating. In a news post on Diablo Immortal’s official web page, the dev team explains how they went back and forth, weighing the pros and cons. For those who might find that post TL;DR, let me just highlight the important bit.

“On one hand, we felt that we wouldn’t be doing the title justice by releasing a game originally designed for mobile on PC; on the other hand, we wanted to make sure the game reached as many players as possible—especially our most dedicated PC fans. In the end, the deciding factor was that we knew many of you would attempt to play this game through an emulator, thus leading us towards building a better experience.”

Now, this does put Blizzard in a pretty awkward position, as they admit themselves. Since Diablo Immortal was designed to be a mobile game, nothing about it was made to work on a desktop. The HUD, menu interfaces, the controls… the whole shebang needed a rework. And that’s tough. But Blizzard doesn’t mind redoing it just for you. That’s how much they love you, PC gamers.

And the good part hasn’t even been discussed yet. Diablo Immortal will hit PC and mobile with full cross-play support and cross-progression! That means that you can still continue slaying demons on your mobile device while going for the NK on the crapper. And you won’t even lose progress! GG, Blizzard.

But the million gold question that remains is: When? Soon. How soon? Check out the trailer below and uncover its secrets, young warrior.

If this is TL;DW for you… June 2. You’re welcome.
