Death’s Door lets you collect a stolen dead guy… as a crow

Collecting souls might seem like a relatively easy job to pull off. I mean, the person is already dead, so there’s no need for a foot chase. But things can get kinda sketchy when this particular soul gets stolen. Death’s Door taps into this premise by putting you in the shoes of a crow, tasked with retrieving this stolen soul. “The shoes of a crow”… LoL. Crows don’t even have shoes, dumbass.

But wait, things get weirder, believe me. Not only do you play a bird (which is already hilarious), Death’s Door also takes this soul retrieving “black omen of demise” to a land where death has no power. As a result, every creature in it has technically passed its expiration date. Because they don’t die, every single one of them overflows with greed and power. So much for a smooth day at work, I guess.

Announced during today’s ID@Xbox Twitch Gaming Showcase, Death’s Door marks the long-awaited return of developers Acid Nerve, as Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker remarked; “We can rebuild them. We have the technology. We can make them better than they were. Better, stronger, faster. And hopefully more profitable”. Why does it always have to be about money, Fork? First Sub Rosa, now this? I mean, c’mon man!

Anyway, Death’s Door will come for your soul somewhere this summer. If you’d like to know more about this quirky game, visit www.playdeathsdoor.com for more info. It’s also wishlistable on Steam and the Xbox Store as of now.
