Free games! Come get your free games while they last

Things at Instakilled have been kinda quiet the past couple of days. I know, and for that I’m sorry. Running a site solo can be demanding and therefore, I needed a little break. Plus, there’s been a bit of a news vacuum after E3 too. Still, you might have felt a little bummed out. To make it up to all y’all I’ve decided to come bearing gifts in the form of free games. Because who doesn’t like free games, right?

And I’m not just bribing my way back into your lives by presenting one freebie. Nope. I’ve got a few of them, actually. Let’s start with a game that doesn’t need an introduction: Sonic Mania. Sonic – our blue hedgehog with the red sneakers – has got his own reasons to celebrate. Did you know he turned 30 this week? Doesn’t look a day over 29 if you ask me. Anywho, to celebrate his tricennial existence, Sonic Mania is now free to claim on the Epic Games Store. Check out the trailer below for some flashy retro-styled footage.

While you’re at it at the Epic Games Store – looking for some speedy games – you might also wanna pick up Horizon Chase Turbo. This low-poly racer by AQUIRIS might not have the pizazz of a Forza Horizon game, but hey… it’s free. Plus, it also runs on a PC with potato-specs. No need for a new overpriced GPU here. Horizon Chase Turbo is the kind of pure fun game to play if you’ve got a few minutes to burn and it’s easy to pick up. You can even play it in couch co-op mode with your friends. So why not give it a go? Uninstall it if doesn’t meet your expectations. I mean, it’s free.

Last but not least, there’s an oldie up for grabs at GOG.com. If you’re not a big fan of fast-paced and more of a turn-based kinda player, the Shadowrun Trilogy might be your cup of tea. The Shadowrun Trilogy consists of Shadowrun: Hong Kong, Shadowrun: Dragonfall, and Shadowrun Returns. With all three games getting critically acclaimed, you’d be a fool not to pick them up cost-free. The trilogy might not be the most modern of the bunch, but there’s still lots to like. Especially if you’re a big fan of near-futuristic RPG’s

So there you have it. Three (or technically five) free games, ready for you to claim. You gotta be quick about it though because some of these deals are about to expire. The Shadowrun Trilogy is up for grabs until tomorrow and can be found here on GOG.com. Sonic Mania and Horizon Chase Turbo can be snatched a little while longer. The Epic Games Store gives you until July 1 to get your hands on those. Sonic Mania can be found here and Horizon Chase Turbo is right over here.

You’re welcome! Have a nice weekend.
