Ghostbusters spirits unleashed

Illfonic’s Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed haunts us this winter

Remember when Ernie Hudson – a.k.a. Winston Zeddemore – blabbed that a new Ghostbuster game was in the works? Well, he wasn’t bullshitting, we now know. Illfonic – the studio behind Predator Hunting Ground – offers us another asymmetric multiplayer shooter this winter. Named Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, the game pits four exterminators against one roaming dead individual.

Players will be able to choose whether they want to hunt or be hunted. As a Ghostbuster, the objective is quite obvious; catch the bastard. But you can also choose to be that flying bastard, possessing objects and summoning minions as you see fit.

Even though Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is technically a multiplayer experience, solo players can jump in, too. The game offers the option of filling the empty character slots with bots, so you can play offline if you desire to do so.

The online hunt for rogue spookies commences by the end of this year, if all goes well. Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed will haunt the PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. One last thing – and you might not like it – the PC version will only be available at the Epic Games Store. The game will have full cross-play support though.

So, do you think you’re ready for this? Get those spirit traps and proton packs dusted off then. We’ll be expecting your presence this winter.
