Forspoken being delayed again, now launches in 2023

Some games get delayed, and some do not. Luminous Productions’ Forspoken – unfortunately – belongs in the first category and gets listed twice. Following a previous delay, pushing the game from May to October, the devs now bring unfortunate news of another setback.

Unfortunate as it may be, Forspoken needs to get pushed back to iron out the kinks. With game elements all complete, Luminous Productions heads into polishing mode with Forspoken. And that takes time, whether you like it or not. Then again, we shouldn’t be too harsh on the team for this unfortunate delay. What would you rather have? A broken game? I think not. And neither does Luminous Productions. They can only debut once, so I can’t blame them for their prudence.

I guess that’s what you get when Square Enix brings you some big-ass shoes to fill. Making claims like “Forspoken aims to deliver the highest quality visuals ever seen in an open-world game”… that’s gotta put some weight on several shoulders. So don’t worry, Luminous. Take all the time you need. A game-breaking bug in the hand is better than two in the game.

Just make sure to justify the premium price tag when it does eventually launch, because that had people going big time…
