#capcomlogic: You want Dino Crisis? Have Exoprimal instead.

Remember the ’90s when the world was obsessed with dinosaurs? Pepperidge Farms remembers, and so do I. When that Jurassic Park storm hit Isla Nublar – off the coast of Costa Rica – Capcom’s own Dino Crisis storm hit the gaming community like no other. With remasters, remakes, and reboots being the current fad, all those ’90s gamers just want one thing: a Dino Crisis reboot. Capcom seems to have picked up on that need for modern-age prehistoric gameplay. Say hello to Exoprimal, the dinosaur-themed shooter I can’t remember asking for.

Then again, for some reason, every shooter needs to have exoskeletons in it nowadays. And since Dino Crisis didn’t have those, there’s no point remaking that, I suppose. Luckily, Exoprimal has. And you won’t have to survive alone. Which is good, because these oversized lizards are coming in bunches. Take a look below to see for yourself.

See what I mean? It’s a long way from being the survival dino shooter that I set my hopes on, but hey. It might just be hella fun for all you squad-based shooter fans out there. And if we’re to believe Capcom’s words on the PlayStation Blog, Exoprimal should take care of your tactical needs.

“You could face any situation and a prehistoric pantheon of enemies, so you’ll need to expect the unexpected. That’s where the ability to change your suit during gameplay comes in. Players can change their Exosuit at any time during a mission, allowing teams to adjust their composition on the fly or shake things up if their current approach isn’t working. Feeling overwhelmed and need more firepower? Try changing to a different Exosuit!

Exoprimal is expected to hatch on PS4 and PS5 in 2023.
