Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection finally coming to Switch

More than a decade after the launch of the third and final Ezio game in the Assassin’s Creed series, Ubisoft has taken a leap of faith by porting the games to the Nintendo Switch. Starting February 17, fans are being offered The Ezio Collection – which to me was AC at its finest- on the go. It even comes with two short films – Lineage and Embers – to get newcomers up to speed and veterans fully informed.

Now, I can hear you thinking. “This Ezio Collection thing sounds familiar”. And you’re absolutely right. Back in 2016, Ubisoft re-launched the Ezio saga on PS4 and Xbox, also bearing the name Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection. Unfortunately for the Frenchies, somebody fumbled the remaster part, making it look worse on quite a few aspects. That didn’t take away the fact that Ezio’s story – one of the most beloved stories in AC history – made for a solid base. One could arguably claim that the story was so good that it made us forgive Ubisoft for the horrible controls.

So, guess who’ll be dealing with those daft controls now? Precisely, Nintendo Switch users. But they’re also being treated to Handheld Mode, HD Rumble, Touchscreen Interface, and an Optimised HUD. Fancy. I mean, look at it. Ain’t it majestic? Still lookin’ sharp for 10-year old games.

In other news, Ubisoft is also giving the entire Assassin’s Creed symphonic experience thing another go. Did you hear about that? If not, check out the full story here.
